The purpose and Mission of the Hospitality and tourism schools is to offer specialized educational focused on preparing students for careers in the hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors. Our mission is to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced industry.

The School of Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management has two specialized departments:

  • Department of Hospitality Management
  • Department of Travel and Tourism Management

Currently, the school offers nine programmes, with plans to introduce more in the near future. The school’s mission aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030, addressing the specific challenges faced in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

  3. Practical Training Facilities:
    • Many schools feature on-campus facilities such as training restaurants, kitchens, bakery, guest rooms, state-of-the-art laundry facilities, front office lab, and conference spaces that allow students to gain hands-on experience.
  4. Internships and Work Experience:
    • Students typically complete internships as part of their program, providing them with real-world experience and industry connections.
  5. Global Opportunities:
    • Many hospitality and tourism schools offer international exchange programs or partnerships with institutions abroad, enhancing students’ global perspectives. Students benefit from European Union grants, which provide students with the opportunity to study for five months at Vincent Pol University in Poland and Parnu College, University of Tartu, Estonia through the fully sponsored Erasmus+ programme.
