Hospitality and Tourism programmes were started in 2004 under the department of Business Management. Due to the tremendous growth in the number of students, facilities and high demand of training qualified personnel, in January 2016, the School of Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management was established with two departments i.e. Department of Hospitality Management and Department of Travel and Tourism Management. The school is currently offering nine programmes and soon to mount more programmes
The school was established to enable the creation of fields that would specifically and adequately deal with the challenges in the hospitality and tourism sector as per the Kenya vision 2030
The school is also one of the most prestigious and unique schools in the university. It is housed within the student center complex and has ultra-modern facility which comprises of: Two Training Restaurants, Two Demonstration Kitchens, Ten Training Guest Rooms, a fully furnished Guest House, and a fully equipped state of the art laundry, a Tourism Gallery, a Conference Room, Classrooms and Offices. Students are offered compulsory attachments/internship sourced and placed by the various departments from the industry
Students from the school also benefits from the European Union grants which sponsor two students every year to study in Poland at Vincent Pol University for a period of five months on a fully sponsored Erasmus+ programme. As a school we are committed to deliver quality training to our clientele
